How to Propagate Corncockles?
Primary propagation for corncockles is through seed sowing, either direct or in containers. For successful growth, light, well-draining soil and keeping the sowed seeds at temperatures around 60-70°F (15-21°C) are crucial. No special pretreatment is typically required for these seeds, but avoid deep planting as they need light to germinate. Difficulty is low to moderate. To propagate: 1. Sow seeds shallowly in early spring after the last frost, or start indoors 6-8 weeks prior. 2. Space seeds about 6 inches apart. 3. Water lightly but regularly to keep the soil moist. 4. Provide full sun to partial shade exposure. 5. Transplant seedlings outdoors after all danger of frost has passed. Germination typically occurs in 1-2 weeks.
