Pandans
Pandans grow as palm-like trees or shrubs native to the tropical and subtropical regions of the Old World. Their long, flat leaves grow in a spiral pattern, earning these plants the common name "Screw pine." They can be used in a number of ways – making ropes, baskets boats, and other plant fiber objects. In the Pacific atolls, pandans are culturally and economically the second most important plant group, right after the Coconut palm.
