How to Propagate Hibiscus?
Hibiscus can be propagated through several methods including sexual (seed sowing) and asexual (cuttings, division, and tissue culture). For successful propagation, ensure a warm climate, well-draining soil, and adequate sunlight. Some hibiscus varieties might require specific temperatures or hormone treatments. Propagation is generally easy, although seed-based propagation may result in variable offspring, and cuttings may require careful handling to root effectively.
For cuttings:
1.Select a healthy, disease-free stem.
2.Cut a 4-6 inch segment just below a leaf node.
3.Remove lower leaves and dip the cut end in rooting hormone.
4.Plant in a well-draining soil mix, and keep moist.
5.Place in indirect light and maintain a warm, humid environment until roots develop.
