How to Propagate Phedimus ?
Propagation Type: Sowing, Cutting, Division
Propagation of phedimus can be achieved through cuttings, division, or seeds, with cuttings being the most common method. Key factors for successful propagation include well-draining soil, bright but indirect light, and moderate temperatures. Special considerations for phedimus involve ensuring the cuttings or divisions have sufficiently dried or calloused before planting, to prevent rot. Generally, propagating phedimus is easy and suitable for beginner gardeners. The high success rate makes it a rewarding endeavor, although seed propagation may present more challenges due to variable germination rates. To propagate phedimus via cuttings: 1) Snip a 4-6 inch stem or leaf cutting in spring or summer, 2) Allow the cut end to callous for a few days, 3) Place the cutting in a pot with well-draining soil, 4) Water sparingly until roots establish, usually in 2-3 weeks, 5) Gradually increase watering as the plant grows.
