Syringa meyeri คือไม้พุ่มลึกลับต้นหนึ่ง แม้จะมีการกำหนดพันธุ์พื้นเมืองไว้แล้ว แต่ต้นกำเนิดของมันก็ยังไม่ได้รับการเข้าใจอย่างถ่องแท้ น่าแปลกที่ไม่มีข้อพิสูจน์ว่าเคยพบพืชชนิดนี้ในป่า เนื่องจากรูปแบบดั้งเดิมนั้นไม่เป็นที่รู้จักในทางปฏิบัติ ในสวนจึงมีการปลูก syringa meyeri ในรูปแบบพันธุ์ที่เรียกว่า 'Palibin'

Syringa villosa

Syringa villosa (Syringa villosa) มีชื่อเรียกอีกอย่างหนึ่งว่า ต้นเลทไลแลค (Late Lilac) เพราะดอกของมันจะบานในช่วงปลายฤดูไม่เหมือนกับต้นไลแลค (Lilac) ทั่วไป มันเป็นไม้พุ่มที่สามารถเติบโตได้สูงถึง 4 เมตร และให้ดอกที่มีทั้งสีม่วง สีแดง สีขาว หรือแม้แต่สีชมพู ต้น syringa villosa นี้มีถิ่นกำเนิดในเกาหลี รัสเซียตะวันออก และจีนตอนเหนือ

ไลลัก

ไลลัก เป็นไม้พุ่มผลิดอกที่มีถิ่นกำเนิดแถบคาบสมุทรบอลข่าน ไลลักเป็นที่รู้จักกันดีในเรื่องความสวยงามและกลิ่นหอมของดอกไม้ ดอกของไลลักนั้นจะเป็นช่อสีชมพูอ่อนหรือสีม่วงและส่งกลิ่นหอมมาก จึงเป็นที่นิยมของบรรดาคนรักดอกไม้ นอกจากนั้นยังถูกนำมาใช้ในอุตสาหกรรมน้ำหอม รวมถึงนำไปใช้ในการแต่งกลิ่นและรสของอาหารได้ด้วย และชื่อไลลักนั้นยังเป็นชื่อของโทนสีม่วงอมชมพูด้วยเช่นกัน
