Brown-eyed evening primrose
Brown-eyed evening primrose is a wildflower of deserts and arid climates. It can be found in various dry habitats including rocky slopes, washes, and sandy places. It's a complex species that has eleven subspecies.
Yellow cups
This is a hairy annual with tall stems often reaching over half a meter in height and surrounded by basal leaves which may be simple or composed of several leaflets. The flowers are bright yellow, often with reddish speckling at the base of each petal.

Heartleaf suncup
Despite its suncup moniker, the flowers of the heartleaf suncup (Chylismia cardiophylla) actually remain closed most of the day and bloom at dusk. Interestingly, the flowers display different colors depending on whether they are open or closed: unopened flowers appear red-orange or deep pink, while open flowers are bright yellow.
