Description

Durians are a genus of tree species. Some trees in this genus produce a distinct fruit that has been dubbed "the king of fruit" due to its large size and thorn-covered peel. In some parts of Indonesia, husks of this fruit are used to smoke fish, but this practice is illegal in some public places because of the overwhelmingly pungent smell.

Durian (Durio zibethinus) is a tropical plant from Southeast Asia. It bears large, spiny, edible fruit which has become a major export crop of the region. The fruit is best known for its pungent smell, which provokes opposing reactions, ranging from near-addiction to revulsion. In some areas, it has even been banned from public transport and hotels.
