Silver sillyberry
Silver sillyberry (Grubbia tomentosa) is an evergreen shrub endemic to South Africa's South-Western Cape Province. Tomentosa is Latin for "hairy" and refers to this plant's fine-haired leaves. The name Grubbia honors Michael Grubb (1728-1808), a Swedish businessman and botanist. This is a fire-resistant species with a fireproof woody base and therefore grows well in environments subject to wildfires.
