Hesperocallis, or Desert Lily, is a low maintenance, drought-tolerant plant. It requires ample sun exposure, well-drained soil, and temperatures that mimic its desert origins. Overwatering can cause root rot. Common challenges include mealybugs and scale insects, but with proper care these threats can be managed. Seasonally, hesperocallis enters dormancy in summer and requires little attention. In autumn, watering should resume to encourage blooming in spring. Winter can invite frost damage, so ensure protection in colder climates.
