Passion flowers
Passion flowers mostly consists of vines that are cultivated for their attractive flowers and fruits. Most species contain edible fruits, and a few of these are commercially valuable crops. Spanish missionaries gave this genus its common name due to the Christian symbolism they observed in the complex flower structure.
Adenia
Adenia are sometimes vines, sometimes shrubs, and sometimes trees. Some are toxic to humans and animals, and have been historically used as hunting toxins by people in the African bushland. Several of these succulents can be grown from cuttings and cultivated as houseplants.
